About:

In recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the high school’s girls varsity field hockey and soccer teams held separate fundraisers on Oct. 14 and 15, respectively.

During their 3-2 win over North Babylon, the field hockey team, along with coach Patricia Stein, raised funds and donated the proceeds to Play4theCure, the National Foundation for Cancer Research’s sports fundraising campaign.

The girls varsity soccer team and head coach Nick Lorenzen, along with junior varsity coach Danielle Poletti, sponsored their annual Kicks for Cancer game in a 4-1 win over Riverhead, which raised more than $1,000. The funds will be donated to cancer research through the Girls Soccer Coaches Association in Section XI.
